Alessandro Piergallini is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", where he teaches Macroeconomics. His research concentrates on monetary and fiscal policy. He has published articles in Economic Inquiry, the Journal of Population Economics, the International Journal of Economic Theory, the Spanish Economic Review, the Berkeley Journal of Macroeconomics, and Applied Economics.
He is Member of the Academic Board of the Ph.D in International Economics at "Tor Vergata" University, the Euro Area Business Cycle Network, and the Scottish Economic Society.
He holds a magna cum laude degree in Political Sciences at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", an M.Sc. in Economics with distinction and a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".
He has been Visiting Ph.D. student at the Pompeu Fabra University and at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies. He has been Research Fellow in Financial Studies at the Centre for Financial and Management Studies of the University of London. He has advised the Fiscal Policy Division of the European Central Bank.
