António Afonso
Senior Economist, ECB
Assist. Prof. with Agregação at ISEG/UTL-Technical University of Lisbon, currently Senior Economist at the European Central Bank. He holds a first degree, a Masters, a PhD, and an Agregação degree in Economics from ISEG/UTL. He was consultant and adviser in the Portuguese Ministry of Finance, and worked also at BNU, at IGCP, and at CGD. He has several publications in scientific journals and co-authored books on financial economics and on public finances.
Research interests:
His main areas of research have been fiscal policy, public finances, financial economics and applied economics.
