Dirk Bezemer

Dr Dirk Bezemer holds two M.Sc. degrees a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. He won a grant from the European Commission to do post-doc research based at the University of London. Subsequently he worked in research positions with the Overseas Development Institute and with the UK Department for International Development. In 2004 he took up an academic position with the University of Groningen where he teaches and researches the economics of growth and development. His published and forthcoming papers are on monetary transmission, credit markets, development finance, trade reform, rural development & agriculture, poverty reduction policies, social capital and educational reform.
