• PhD in economics (Warsaw School of Economics 2003). A graduate of Quantitative Methods and Information Systems Warsaw School of Economics. Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic Policy. President of the Knowledge & Innovation Institute in Warsaw, head of the Postgraduate Studies in Administration and Economic Policy (WSE).
• Member of the Centre for Comparative Economics at University College London. Member of The Econometric Society, the British Alumni Society, the Polish Economic Society, Young Scientists’ Council by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
• The only economist in Poland who predicted (in summer 2007) the forthcoming financial crisis in the U.S. and a consequent economic downturn in Poland. Similarly, successful prediction (1999) of the downturn in 2001-2003.
• The only younger generation representative of economics in the advisory council to the minister of science in Poland.
Research interests:
• Author and co-author or editor of 30 books (including three issued in London) and dozens of scholarly articles, mainly in the knowledge economy, innovation, and economic crises.
• He has lectured in London, Stockholm, Vilnius. Expert of several ministries and government agencies in the field of macroeconomic modeling, information society, EU funding, technology grants, etc.
• Lecturer in public sector economics, development economics, business cycles, economic policy, economic forecasting, financial crises, the knowledge economy.
