Michal Horvath

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Oxford and Nuffield College

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford and a research affiliate in the Centre for Dynamic Macroeconomic Analysis, University of St Andrews. Before earning a doctorate from the University of St Andrews (2008), I studied at Comenius University Bratislava, Slovakia and the University of York, UK. I started my professional career as a research assistant and consultant in the Slovak branch of ING Barings. A short spell at the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, where I advised the State Secretary and led a small research unit, followed after my studies in York. I have also done consultation work for the World Bank and served as an adviser to the Slovak finance minister.
