The database associated with ECB's Area-Wide Model (AWM) is a standard source for empirical work on euro area. The AWM was decommissioned by the ECB in 2010 and the data stopped being updated in 2019. As of 2025 EABCN had taken over updating this data, through the Euro Area Business Cycle Dating Committee, which uses the data for its analysis, including output gap estimation for euro area. The data and estimates are made available as a service to the profession.
