Kirstin Hubrich is Senior Economist at the research department of the European Central Bank (ECB). She received her Ph.D. from Humboldt University Berlin, where she was also Research Associate at the National Research Center ‘Quantification and Simulation of Economic Processes’. She has held positions as research fellow and economist at the Dutch Central Bank prior to joining the ECB in 2001. She has published in scholarly journals on time series econometrics, inflation, monetary policy and forecasting and serves as a guest editor for the Journal of Applied Econometrics. She has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Euro Area Business Cycle Network (EABCN) from 2005-2009 and has co-organised several EABCN and ECB conferences and workshops.
Research interests:
Empirical Macroeconomics (particularly aggregation versus disaggregation in macro modelling and forecasting, regional and sectoral inflation dynamics, structural change), Time Series Econometrics (cointegration, forecast methods and evaluation, non-linear models, structural VARs)
